The best Fashion Schools in USA vol 1

Happy first of September everyone!

While the first day of school in Estonia is September 1st then in the U.S the schools have been in session for couple of days now.

As You all know WaF is all about fashion - inside and out,
therefore we are introducing You to one top American fashion school every week.

Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Marist College, recently named One of Nation’s Best Colleges by Princeton Review, offers a four year Fashion program.
You can major in either fashion design or fashion merchandising. Also, the students have an opportunity to enroll in fashion studies in Europe and Asia.

As it states on Marist website, the college “trains students to create apparel for various markets considering creative, technical and costing factors.”
Students learn technical and practical skills like flat pattern making, draping, sewing and much more.
In their senior year the students show a fashion collection at the schools annual Silver Needle Show.

To apply, prospective students need to send in a fashion portfolio that’s inspired by one of the world’s rivers, plus show examples of work.

A year in Marist College costs about $30, 000, for international students a little bit more. (Yes, to get an education in the States is pricey.)

Overlooking the beautiful Hudson River, Marist College is definitely one of the best.
